How do digital loyalty cards work for a coffee shop?
A coffee shop can offer a free coffee after ten visits. The card stays in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. There is no app. Staff stamp at the till. Start includes 100 free stamps a month, then R1 per stamp, capped at R199. Shop is R199 a month or R1,990 a year.
What reward should a coffee shop start with?
Start with one clear rule, such as a free coffee after ten stamped visits. Say the size in the reward so the morning shift does not have to guess. You can change the reward later and the cards update. A second card for beans or food can wait until the first rule is easy for the team.
What do staff do during a busy morning?
The customer shows the wallet card or says the mobile number. Staff scan the code or type it and tap Stamp. It takes a few seconds at the till. You do not need a separate scanner. If the person is new, they scan the QR code on the counter and add the card before the next order.
What happens when the coffee card is full?
The reward is created when the stamp count reaches the number you set. The customer can show that reward at the till and staff mark it as used. A redeemed reward is not billed as another stamp. The card then starts again toward the next one. You decide how long the reward stays valid when you set up the programme.
What else do these shops ask?
Do coffee shop customers need an app?
No. They add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet from your QR code. Both wallets are already on the phone. There is no XEQT app for them to install.
Can I honour a paper card that is already started?
XEQT Loyalty does not scan old paper cards. Start the digital card from the next visit. If you choose to honour punches already on paper, do that within the stamp limits you set. That choice is yours at the till.

What if the café connection drops?
A stamp is confirmed when the till has a connection. If the internet drops, the visit is not added yet. Confirm it when you are back online. The product does not pretend a stamp landed while you were offline.
